Who Is The Roan

For anyone whose interested I thought I would tell you about myself and where I’m coming from.

My name is Jason Rainville, The Roan is a nickname I picked in university.  I am Christian, I’m 25, I’m married and I love metal.

The Roan

The Roan as a nickname and persona is my dude/goon essence, or as my wife puts it “everything I don’t like about you”.  The Roan is loud, offensive and loves to laugh at anyone and everyone, especially myself,

Education

I am by no means a scientist or professional philosopher, I have a Bachelors Degree in History from York University in Toronto.  I also have certificate in religious studies from Tyndale University/College and Seminary also located in Toronto.  I got through school by writing essays and formulating my own ideas into concise arguments.  I may not be the most well read person but I know how to prove a point and I can’t pick out fallacies in someone elses.

Christianity

I became a Christian when I was 17.  I come from a completely non-christian family.  As it stands now I would say that I am a conservative fundamentalist Christian.  I believe in the complete inspiration and perfection of the scriptures.  I do not believe in evolution and I believe the earth is young.  I give no credit or consideration to homosexual marriage and that Christians should not sit on the side lines in regards to political activity, that we should be diplomatic bastions of light to a fallen world.  I also believe in separate roles of men and women and that a man is not only the head of his home but also the church.  My primary interest in philosophy and theology from the beginning of my faith is apologetics.  I’m not really interested in philosophy otherwise because of the enlightenment from the bible, but I use philosophy as a tool for defending the faith and defeating the attacks of atheism and false religions.

Marriage

I am married to a beautiful girl named Candice who is totally out of my league.  She is this cute, little 5′3″ introvert that I adore.  It’s the opposites attract thing for sure.

Metal

I am and have been for a long time a big fan of metal music.  I try to be as metal as possible to my approaches in life, as I type I have a knight helmet to my left and sword with a skull on it to my right.
